Get a feel for the history of Quetico Park
4 Oct 2005
French Lake and Dawson Trails - a great place to enter Quetico Park.
Be sure to plan some time to view the Quetico Park Pavilion, the John B. Ridley Research Library (established by the Quetico Foundation), and the Dawson Trails for unsurpassed hiking through pristine boreal forests. Family campgrounds, group picnic area, sandy beachs for swimming and much more.
Nature trails beside family campgrounds. French Lake is a great base camp for short canoe trips for great trout fishing in Pickerel Lake.
Dawson Trails, Campgrounds and the Pavilion can give you a feel for the history of Quetico Park. An introduction to the Park at the Pavilion can highten the appreciation for the history and the lifestyles of the fur traders and the natives who used the canoe as the fastest means of transportation. The Friends of Quetico and John B. Rieley Library staff at the Quetico Pavilion are always happy to help.
